Privacy Policy

PNTC (Pilot Night Time Calculator) is built to need as little of your data as possible. You don't create an account, and your logbook is never stored. This policy explains what we do handle, why, and for how long.

The sun reference table we keep (sunrise, sunset and twilight times per airport and date) is public astronomical data and contains nothing about you.
Cookies
We set one cookie ourselves, pnc_id. It is strictly necessary to provide the free tier fairly (one file per week), so it doesn't need consent. It holds a random ID, is sent only to this site, can't be read by scripts, and expires after 400 days.
With your consent only, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.), which sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* for this site to tell visits apart. Until you press Accept, Google Analytics isn't loaded and nothing is sent to Google. We turned off Google signals and advertising features, never send your file or its contents, and remove payment references from page addresses before they are measured. You can change your choice at any time under Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining deletes these cookies. Your choice itself is stored in your browser (pnc_consent) for a year. The human check runs in your browser (a small proof-of-work calculation) and sends nothing to third parties.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland) on a page hosted by Stripe. Your card details and billing information go directly to Stripe and never reach our server. Stripe processes them under its own privacy policy. We receive the payment status, amount and the email address you give at checkout, and we keep payment records for as long as Romanian accounting law requires (currently 10 years).
Who processes data for us
Our hosting provider, Akamai Connected Cloud / Linode (servers in Frankfurt, Germany), acts on our instructions under data processing terms. Stripe acts as described above. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Ireland Ltd. processes the analytics data described above as our processor under the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. On the contact form, Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Ltd.) checks that a person, not a bot, is sending: it receives your IP address and information about your browser and how you use the page, under Google's Privacy Policy. If it can't confirm you, the form shows a picture of digits to type instead. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else. Where a provider handles data outside the EU, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy. Write to us through the contact form. Because we store so little, we may only be able to find your data if you tell us your Stripe receipt number. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or to the authority where you live.

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
